Our Impact
Each year the Des Moines Art Center and Pappajohn Sculpture Park welcome over 300,000 visitors.
Last year, Community Access Programs served over 3,000 students through classes, workshops, and camps.
Admission to the museum and Sculpture Park is always free to the public.
Mission
Through its collections, exhibitions and educational programming, the Des Moines Art Center provides opportunities for transformational art experiences.
Key Services Provided
The Des Moines Art Center partners with local organizations to make art education accessible to those facing social, economic and physical barriers. Last year, the program offered 695 free workshops, engaging more than 2,000 participants in creative expression, personal growth and healing through art.
Key Audiences Served
Our Community Access Program serves individuals facing barriers, including veterans, immigrants, refugees, and those in hospice care or battling substance abuse. Partnering with local nonprofits, the program offers arts engagement for children and adults, promoting mental and physical well-being through creative expression and personal exploration.

What are the most immediate needs to support your organization?
Individuals, corporations and foundations can create lasting impact by investing financially in the Art Center. Donated support allows the Art Center to provide free admission, as well as public events and community access programming. Membership provides wonderful benefits like behind-the-scenes events, exclusive sales at the Museum Shop and discounted tuition for studio classes.
